The World's First Awkward Muppet Family Painting

I confess, I giggled all through the entire making of this painting.

Camilla's eyes can see right into your soul.

Every once in a while, my daughter would wander in from the other room and we stood in front of the canvas and giggled together.

Camilla and Gonzo’s Awkward Portrait was painted as a Birthday gift for one of my sisters who has loved Gonzo since we were kids. I knew that if I was really going to make some hilarious fan art, that I had better make it special. I got my inspiration for the “something special” part from this site. And also this post. And most specially, photos like this (among others):

I just love this guy. Don't you just want to pinch his fuzzy little cheeks?Obviously I couldn’t get Gonzo and his favorite chicken to sit for me, he’s a very busy Weirdo, from what I hear. I ended up repeatedly watching and pausing Muppet Treasure Island, Muppet Christmas Carol and this video to get the painting right. I think I could recite any of these movies for you… especially the parts with Rizzo in them. I love that rat!

This is my first dip into fan-art and I had a great time doing it. If anyone out there knows the Swedish Chef, Beaker, or Rizzo, have their agents give me a call! I’d love to paint them next!
